Philadelphia July 8^th 1786 Dear Sir, I acknowledge the receipt of your Letter dated 4^th May last, inclosing two final Settlement Certificates, one in favor of myself, N°92935 for One Hundred & Eighty two 66/100 Doll. The other in favor of T. Principal Butler N°92936 for Two hundred Dollars — I should have written you [strikethrough: much] sooner, only waiting for M^r. [undecipherable] as a bearer, when alteration of affairs &c were such as rendered it impossible for him to go sooner — I know you will do any thing in your power to oblige him. — Yours & [signature] Jno.
