Philadelphia June 21. 1786.

Sir,

I acknowledge the receipt of your letter 28th. March and have the pleasure to inform you that all my accounts are purposed for settlement, but always understood that I was to have done it with General StClair, who I received the money from and have frequently press’d him to a settlement as my expenditures on account of the United States were great — I now send you my accounts by Cap. McCully, and request you will inform him how it can be settled, but should prefer settling it with the General —

I am, Sir, &c. Willm Butler

J. Howell Esqr.
