Sums due North Carolina Line
Document 1786Refers to sums due North Carolina Line. Is having difficulty procuring subsistence due officers, non-commissioned officers and privates.
New York June 10th 1786
Dear Sir
The enclosed account will shew you the respective
sums due to the Officers of the North Carolina Line which will compleat their pay for the years 1782 and 1783 you will see that there is not included in it the disputed cases referred to the Secy at War - the deductions for monies and articles received I hope may meet with a concurrence if not I will rectify any instances which may appear to be improper.
Much greater difficulties than what have respected the pay
impede the procuring the subsistence still due the Officers, and 42
the arrears of the noncommissioned Officers and Privates, these claims shall however be attended to in their order and the amount rendered as soon as possible. The Board of Treasury are so low in resources that they can scarecely make this payment Major Robert Fenner JP
