Sir
I embrace this oppertunity to write to you by Mr Myers who is a going to New York and will see you if his business will admit of his coming to Philadelphia, but should he not come, I shall be obliged to you to write to me by him when you think it is likely I shall be settled with for my pay in full or part —
My not being allowed any subsistance Money and being kept out of my pay so long has oblig'd Me to get in debt — at My expence is in the Publice. [strikethrough: —] I hope you will not be displeased at My writeing to you on the subject — I shall be oblig'd you to send me part of My pay by Mr Myers if you can conveniently — he will give you a receipt for it — you may charge me with it, which will make no difficulty in settling the account —
Some of the Soldiers that were under My direction at this post desired Me to write to you concerning their pay as they do not know where else to apply —
I shall be obliged to you to inform me how they are to get their pay from the time they had their furloughs till the Army was discharged —
I am Sir with due respect
Your Obedient Servant
