Dear Sir
Inclosed is a stating of your account as it stands at present — I find that the goods at York Town, a months pay in 1781 and some other charges are expected to be accounted for on your settlement with the Commissioner for the Department — Col Walker who was an ADC to the Commander in chief is now appointed to settle these Accounts, he will therefore attend to you when you think proper and any assistance I can give you I will do with cheerfulness — I conclude that you have neither money or stores to account and that therefore you account made out and sworn and an order for some person, to receive your balance will be sufficient without your personal application to the Commissioner —
Doctor James Craik } [JP]
