Sir,
Agreeably to your request I have enclosed a Certificate No. 93,996 drawn in favor of Cap. Patton for One hundred and eighty four dollars, the ballance which appears to be due him there was 200 dols. retained from him, but it appears he received from Mr. Benstead in June 1777 the sum of Forty dollars old Emission, amounting to Sixteen dollars specie & which is now deducted from the sum first retained.
I have examined the Musters of the late 10th. Reg. as also the accounts settled by me; and find there were two of the Name of John Smith (one a Corporal, the other a private) who are both made up for their pay to 1 Jany. 1781. and Certificates issued to the Agents.
