I have an immediate opportunity of writing to you - The objects of this Letter are twofold - First to complain of your silence, and secondly to inform you that Mr. Thompson will remit you £2 this Money for the platte &c. which you sent me - I have not your Letter about me, and therefore am not certain of the precise sum due - If I should be under the mark, pray acquaint me. - I have not been favoured with a letter from you for an age. were I not morally certain that you recd my last by Doctor Harrington, in which I assured you that your accusation of neglect in me was illfounded, I should be at this moment unhappy in thinking that you had resolved to write me no more. - Do let me hear from you by the first opportunity, excuse haste & believe me to be unfeignedly Your friend Bushrod Washington Northumberland Court May 8th. 1786
