Sir Your letter of the 20^th March has come to hand, wherein you request information where your accounts are to be settled — There has hitherto been a Commissioner appointed expressly to settle the Accounts of the Quarter Masters Department he is now dismissed but another appointment will take place in a few days, who will be stationed in this City and will be the only person proper for you to apply to for a settlement, he is to be furnished with an account of all your certificates taken up by the State Commissioners, and it will be best for you to bring on all your papers and vouchers that respect the business which has gone through your hands. I am unacquainted with the state of the business transacted by General Green, nor can I tell you whether the papers you have lodged with him will be essential to be reobtained or not.
