New York May 6^th 1786 Dear Sir Your letter of the 27^th Ulto and that of M^r Lambat the 28^th are received — M^r Hillen will not go on as expected, The in intend that some person shall be employed for the purpose of bringing your papers, provided you find no safe opportunity without the expence. I cannot send on the certificates for arrears yet due to the Line without the legal authority given to some person here to receipt for the same. Your Accounts of Spces are almost entered in our Books, and appear to be very correct and proper — We shall be happy to see you and M^rs Dunscomb here, but I believe it will be best that you stay in Virginia, as your difficulties may be better stated by letter than that the Public business should be retarded by your Journey.
