[May 6^th 1786 To And^w Dunscomb [undecipherable]] New York May 6 1786 Dear Sir Your letter of the 24^th Ult and that of M^r Sand[undecipherable] of the 28^th are arrived — M^r Mifflen will not come on as expected, and [undecipherable] that some person [undecipherable] shall be employed for that purpose of bringing your papers, provided you find no safe opportunity without the expence. I cannot send on the certificates yet for arrears yet due t[o] the heirs without the legal authority given to [for] some person here to receipt the same. Your accounts of fees are almost entered in our Books, and appear to be very correct & proper. We shall be happy to see you & M^rs Dunscomb here, but I believe it will be best that you [undecipherable] stay in Virginia, for [undecipherable] your difficulties may be better stated by letter, than that the public business should be attended by your Journey.
