Dear Sir,

The widow of James Wilson’s application to me, and her peculiar situation make me answer that part of your Letter of 1t. April inst. relative thereto before I have time to furnish this business for your Office, and for the delay of which my extreem hurry must be my apology to Mr. Pierce —

Wilson was Captain Patterson’s Compy. of the old 12th. — afterwards when the 12th & 3d were incorporated he came into Cap. Christie’s Compy. and continued in the 3d. Reg. until he was Shot — May 1781 —
