[The Hon the the Board of Treasury]
New York 28th April 178[undecipherable]
Sir
The board of Treasury being about to issue the Warrant for your pay for assisting the Agent of the late Invalid Regiment, I have made application to them to suspend it untill you are able to give satisfaction respecting the six men that you told me had never signed the order in your favor for their Certificates tho' you have drawn the same from me on this supposition — you are requested therefore to come to the Board as soon as posible, and give them your account of this transaction —
