Agreeable to your request I laid the case of Sergt Pollard before General Knox, who is of opinion that he cannot receive any other emolument from the United States than has already been given —

I would thank you to wait on Mr Nicholson and procure a copy of Capt Smiths accounts as I cannot close his worth the recStates without it.
