Dear Sir
Your letter requesting the resignations granted on our Officers by the men of Jos: Paul Strette company, the would never No ones claims the names of the Persons of that Company or rather of those who have joined Hazen's Regiment, and which have been paid their depreciation in the settlement with Hazen's Corps. Jos: Gorham has received with them, and afterwards has been paid in Hazen's Regiment. Major Lloyd delivered his securities to Jos: Briggs who it seems has received the securities [strikethrough: from] of a great many other soldiers of that regiment — I am fearful that this Briggs has imposed on Lloyd and am therefore making out [strikethrough: notonly] an account of all the monies he has received which I will enclose you that you may make such discoveries as may serve to detect more thoroughly — Selin has also need [undecipherable] many [undecipherable] and [undecipherable] probably wants as much [undecipherable] as any body — I therefore enclose the orders — Numbers 2 shews the State of the two Companies in 1778.
