War Office, March 22^d 1786 Sir, I had the honor to receive your letter a few days ago, dated Pittsburgh, Feb^y 20.^th 1786. I will be much obliged to you, to forward to me, as soon as possible, a return of the artillery, arms, ammunition, and other public stores, now at the falls of the Ohio; in order that I may be enabled to report to Congress, whether it will be, for the public interest, to purchase any of them, on the terms you mention. I have understood that some cannon and stores, which were loaned by the United States to the Commonwealth of Virginia, have been sent down the [undecipherable]. Perhaps, Sir, you could give me information on that subject, and could inform me, whether any of the said [undecipherable] prehended by your orders from the [undecipherable] juant of them.
