Dear Sir,
The representatives of Jacob Weaver, late Lieu of the 3d Fund as they can get the Certificate of the US funded upon this State, that it will be more than interest that the depreciation commence the 1st Sept 1777 as B your aid rendered to Major Tudor, which I have received and will settle the account accordingly —
I am, Dear Sir, with respect
Yours in
Js Howell Esqr Jno. Nicholson
New York 15 March 1786.
Sir,
A multiplicity of business crowding on me on my arrival in this City has prevented me from writing you as soon as I could have wished — I have made enquiry at the several Offices where there was any probability of procuring intelligence of the accounts of Colonel White, but without effect.
The Gentleman to whom you informed me Mr Bond gave the papers to have relinquished to [undecipherable] and in all probability carried them back —
Inclosed is a Letter from Mr Sims to Mr [undecipherable] on the subject — please present my compliments to your Brother & believe me yours sincerely,
Jos. Howell Junr
Mr Mc [undecipherable] son.
