Dear Sir,
I take this opportunity, by Capt Bird to write you a few lines to beg you the favor of you to take the trouble, to settle that note, that I sent the General by Captain Blake, which deft of Mr Saunders is three Months pay, which I allowed him in my accounts for the same, and as the other Affairs I did, he said, to do me justice, he would give me an order on the same, and desire the General to pay it, and give him a rect of so doing &that I take it kind if you will please to me righted in the affair, and send me the money, as a pointless to him know the result.

Dear Sir,
Your favor of the 6th Inst. reached me on thursday last, and would have been answered by the first of Yesterday if I could have compleated the enquiries necessary to grant a Certificate for David Murray, which was done and endorsed — there is a David Murray of Gruble Co. inlisted the 24 April 1777. but I suppose deserted in August following as he is not on the Rolls of that, several succeeding Months.
Mr Buer arrived on the 4th Inst. and has been very busy in Col. Neel's affair — he expects to compleat the business today, so that I expect you will receive a packet from him, by the same post that conveys this — as soon as leisure will permit, I will take up the Acts of Capt Thompson.
