New York January 6 1786 Dear Sir, Your favor of the 23 Dec last with its inclosures came to hand — Agreeably to your request I now inclose you the Certificate of pay due Col. John Hughes, also that of Cap. Albast [undecipherable], those Gentlemen were of the Quota of your State, and the Certificates obtained agme from Major Piquel in consequence of some charges the State of Maryland had against them for those charges. Maryland States from them and their Certificates is lost therefore as you were shewn by the inclosed amount, which I thought proper to transmit for the Satisfaction of the Settleing commend — You will please to transmit me a receipt for the Certificates — I thank you for your attention in forwarding my register, and by a continuance I Shall be — M^r.
