On his settlement with me, was only allowed Pay to the first Day of Jany 1783 being Noted on the Returns from the War Office as Deranged on that Day.
You are acquainted with the reasons and directions that guided my Conduct— tho' at the same time there appeared more propriety in the claim of the Colonel than in [undecipherable] from reasons he now [undecipherable] me to inform In the Musters to the End of the War Col Charles Harrison is entered as on Duty with the Southern Army— One of which I herewith inclose & leave it [strikethrough: with] you to determine on his claim.
