[undecipherable] Philadelphia 14 Janry 1798
Considerable time ago I addressed You and inclosed an account founded on your note of hand given the Mr Janes and Jone in my favor for the amount of which receiving the interest up to the 1st Jany 1797 was £34. 19 No— but as I have never been favoured with a line on the subject I avail Myself of this good Opportunity of Magr Toppaget to inclose another account with the interest cast up to the 1st Jany 98— and as you must be fully sensible that the simple interest bears no proportion to the use of the Money— I have to request that you would inclose me an Order on Mrs Wm Turnbull and Company who have already assured me they will pay it on sight— your compliance will very much Oblige your friend Saml Hodgdon—
