New York 6th December 1785 Dear Sir I received your faver of the 29th ultimo. Congress have I am persuaded taken every measure in their power to prevent the depredation of the Algerenes, therefore I do not believe that they will at present think proper to fit out any armed vessels You will find by the proposals of the board of treasury, which will be published in your papers, the places, at which the provisions will be issued on the Ohio. I hope, if you could make it beneficial to yourself that you might obtain the contract. On the commencement of the recruiting business again in Philadelphia I will apply to you to furnish the rations I am with sincere regards Mr Biddle your affectionate Humble servant H Knox
