Inclosed you will receive agreeably to your request this Letter to the several Governors of the eastern States, as also two Letters from Mr White one on public service [undecipherable] by him.
Nothing particular has presented since you left us - the acc[ount] of General H[undecipherable] I flatter myself will be closed tomorrow. the Charges which the General makes for extra pay appears to me to be just, and there for his [undecipherable] he is willing to Certify to, & I do not find them on the [undecipherable].

I arrived here as I expected on wednesday - and am very anxious to be informed of the business - tho my own busi[ness] requires so much of my attendance, yet I would by no means let that of the public suffer - Wish to be informed whether my attendance will be wanted within the three weeks - and that you would if you think necessary consult the Commissioners of the Treasury on the subject, as I wish to stay here as long as I can. please to present my Compliments to the gentle-men of the office, and remember to direct to me at this place to be left at the post office in Hartford - I am Dr Sir your Obly
