Dear Sir
To many evils which are daily experienced by the Officers of the late Massachuts, falls due in the Continental army, from a want of the money due to them for services and is now [strikethrough: or] ought to be in [strikethrough: the] hands of the collectors calls aloud for a representation of their Sufferings to the General court, which meets on the 19th instant, and pray that some effectual measures may be adopted to bring forward a speedy collection of the taxes and punctual payments, by the collectors, into the Treasury office. And to pray also that if provision is not made for to redeem the Notes due in 84. & 85 it may be immediately done. — I have lately been flattered from a quarter I have great confidence in that, but it an application being made have the best consequences — I want it must be attention of the General court and proper expectations formed thereon it will instantly stamps the notes with a new value. —
I am fully in opinion that the Officers of the massachuts falls should come together as soon as possible. I wish therefore you would confort Go Health as it is not a lax tax meeting I write, doubtably agreeable with us I urge you to write both Brooks and yr Officer in town on this point, if they, or you without consulting
them, may notify one to be held in Boston the latter end of this month or ye beginning of Novr request the Journal news writers to insert it in their several papers —
