The business of Gen^l Putnam's lays in the same situation as you left it, and I have had no satisfactory account of the affairs of [undecipherable] tho I have taken some trouble on the business and have requested Major Lucas to give his evidence on the subject. No [undecipherable] account has also the same objections to it as formerly Col Hull H. Cort.
