Comp^l Gen^l Office, Aug. 19^th 1785 D Sir I am exceedingly sorry for your indisposition of late and am glad to hear that you are getting better - by late accounts I am obliged to have reference to you, but the distance is now so great between us that it is not so easily done I wish to be informed from the Musters at what time a John Carroll of Moylan's Reg. of Cavalry Inlisted, and at what time discharged - he, after his discharge (supposed to be in 1780) is said to have reinlisted, and I find there is a final settlement for his pay from 2^d time of reinlistment - his depreciation of pay is applied for by his Wid[ow] I am, Sir, your most Obed^t Serv^t Jos.
