My indisposition has prevented my answering your Letter of the 10 ins't sooner - It is the wish of Mr Pierce to close the accounts of the Army as soon as possible and which I expect we shall be able to accomplish some time next Spring - It will therefore be best for you to proceed to this City as soon as your convenience will admit - You will be carefull to bring all the papers and Vouchers necessary to complete your business - If you should find it necessary to write to me previous to your arrival, direct to me under cover to Mr Pierce as all Letters to him are free -
