We have not been able either to locate a better copy of the document, or to enhance its legibility electronically] By the United States in Congress assembled July 9^th 1785 Resolved That the Commissioners for negotiating Treaties with the western Indians under the Ordinance of the 7^th of March last and the 4^th of June inst be and they are hereby directed to hold the said Treaty on the western Frontier, [undecipherable] more at the Rappids, or at the mouth of the [undecipherable] [undecipherable]. That the Secretary at war attend the company of [undecipherable] from the [undecipherable] of the United States to affix [undecipherable] of the said [undecipherable] and that he [undecipherable] and the [undecipherable] as directs the Secretary at war to order the Troops in the service of the United States to be in readiness to attend the said Commissioners and so much of the said acts as requires the same Commissioners to obtain from the [undecipherable] of [undecipherable] and [undecipherable] their acknowledgement of their rights to lands and administer on oath of allegiance to the said Confederation be and they are hereby repealed. Resolved That it be and is hereby recommended to the Commonwealth of Virginia on the request of the said Commissioners to furnish such number of the Militia of that State not exceeding 150 from the Counties within the State most convenient to the places where the said Treaty is to be held, with give full protection to all persons attending, and [undecipherable] the company of Infantry aforesaid to be insufficient for that purpose.
