[Board of Treasury [undecipherable] Sir, The United States in Congress have [undecipherable] raised for the Year 1784; and that the [undecipherable] be paid out of the Requisition of that Year — Provision has been made by the Board for pay[undecipherable] the Two Months Pay — The Arrearages you will ascertain in your Office, and give Drafts on [the] Receivers of Continental Taxes, in the several St[ates] to the Amount, in such Sums. and in such Form[s] as shall be pointed out to you by the Board. These Drafts we shall direct to be received in Taxes on the Requisition of the Year 1784. You will Receive from M^r Andrews, your Assist[ant] a Book of blank Drafts, Containing Ten thousand [undecipherable] which you are hereby authorised to Sign. When th[ey] are filled up, and Used, we will furnish you wi[th] more to the Amount of the Arrearages liquidated [in] your Office — We are, Sir, Your Obed: H[ble] Serv^ts.
