[cataloguing notation in margin] M-1471 War Office July 15th 1785 Sir Congress have been pleased to direct, that one company of Infantry from the Troops in the service of the United States be detached to Fort McIntosh for the purpose of attending the Indian Commissioners during the Treaties which are to be held at the falls of the Ohio and at the Mouth of the Great Miami. You will be pleased as soon as possible to form a full Company of Infantry out of the recruits of this State and give orders that the Men be in readiness to march by the 25:th Instant at farthest. You will make out a return of the Camp Equipage and other Articles necessary for the expedition which you will lay before me that measures may be taken to have them prepared and collected in due time. The Contractors for Clothing are requested to furnish on your orders any Number of suits not exceeding one hundred and sixty five, you will therefore apply to them for as many suits as may be required for the equipment of the detachment.
