Annapolis June 3. 1785
Just received your last letter. In answer can only observe 373 Comes on now and that the papers forming of Hamiltons is all right charge the same to me — am sick with an Intermittant and incapable of doing business — am quite low — but my Clerk is very industrious and the army business does not suffer — Jack is Young — and Crop work it is — My very [and only] Exertions towards furnishing me with Certificate paper — If Mr Pierce does not arrive for any send on the one I wrote [next post].

I Inclosed you will receive a lettera of the Monies belonging to me on settlement of the accounts of the late Line of Penna. amounting to 57,682½ dollars which sum is carried to the Credit of the state in the books of the Paymaster. You will observe I have not Credited the monies advanced to Capt Wiley & Jordan; this arose from their neglect in not inserting those advances in their Accounts & my supposing they would receive Commutation from which I generally deducted them. I shall however call on them
