Dear Sir
Philadelphia May 31. 85
There is some time since to Mr. Dunscomb on the subject of Moylans Dragons &c. but have not had an answer, I much fear great impositions has taken place, as this state adopted the whole of that Regiment and settled with them both for depreciation and pay. and Virginia has also settled their depreciation to 1st. Janry. 1782. I flatter myself of hearing from Mr. Dunscomb soon and to receive a return of all those who have had Settlements — whereby we may be enabled yet to check some — You must endeavour to spin out your business untill Mr. Pierce's arrival which I hope will be next Sunday, I have some Certificate paper left but none signed that I can with any propriety spare, however, if he does not come in the time expected I must send you me Livres.
I shall keep a look out for Mr. Pierce's baggage and inform you of its arrival, you have never yet inform'd me of the Arrival of Hamilton's papers & whether you got that small account for expences.
