Harmar recommends David Duncan to Dickinson for the job of taking charge of Fort McIntosh after the retrograde of 1st American Regiment. Reports on the detachment of an officer and party to remove and destroy the improvements of squatters. "Understanding that several Vagabonds had presumed to improve the land betwixt this and Fort Pitt which have been appropriated by the honorable the legislature of the State for the redemption of the depreciation Certificates, and apprehending that a removal of them would meet your Excellency's and the honorable Council's approbation, (altho' not in the line of duty as a Continental Officer,) I have taken liberty to detach an Officer with a small party, who has destroyed their cabins and driven them from their improvements."
