Your favor of the 1st Inst came too late to be answer by last post, Since call'd on Capt Banner with the discharge of Charles Rees who acknowledged the signature to be his, as also he as Col. Haw commanding the German Regiment discharged at Wyoming all (or nearly) those men whose times had expired in the Year 1779 while the Army under Genl Sullivan was on their March to the Indian Country — I have also obtained from him four Original pay Rolls taken for the month of July, Augt. Sept. & Octr. 1779 (copies of which are inclosed) wherein you will find the Names of those discharged and when, these you will compare with the Masters for those Months whereby you will be enabled to detect any Fraud that may appear. The List you enclosed I have compared with the Settle-
