Philad^a 11 April 1785 Dear Sir Your favor of the 1^st Ins^t came too late to be answer by last post, I since call'd on Cap^t Bunner with the discharge of Charles Rees, who acknowledged the signature to be his, as also he, as Captain commanding the German Regiment discharged at Wyoming all (or nearly) those men whose times expired in the Year 1779 while the Army under Gen^l Sullivan was on their March to the Indian Country— I have also obtained from him four Original Pay Rolls taken for the month of July, Aug^t Sep^tr & Oct^r 1779 (copies of which are inclosed) wherein you will find the Names of those discharged and when, these you will compare with the Musters for those Months whereby you will be enabled to detect any Fraud that may appear. The List you inclosed I have compared with the settlements made by M^r Nicholson & find that Nicholas Stover and Philip Sheaver had a settlement with him, M^r N. requests you will form a list of the whole settlement made to that Regiment and specify the time of their several discharges. he will then examine the whole and inform you of any Settlements being made to the prejudice of either State. Cap^t Bunner informs me that Levy David was 2^d Serj^t and Jacob (say John) Harris was Drum Major, they were Mustered in his Company as Oldest Captain but belonged to your State. No Soldier is allowed depreciation of pay by this State unless he continues until the 10 April 1780 & was legally discharged or died. C. Richmond J. H.
