Philadelphia April 8. 1785 Dear Sir I wrote you the 5^th & 22^d March last, the former by Cap^t Strong inclosing the Memorial of Cap^ts. Wyley and Jordan for Commutation with a Resolve of Congress referring the same to you. the latter by Cap^t Truxt[on] I enclose a rough Account of Col Morris' agreeable to your request. M^r. Audibert received a letter fr[om] M^r. Carleton a few days since desiring him to prepare & move the Pay Office to N. York in consequence of which I expect M^r. Audebert will go in a few day. I am very Sorry to hear (by M^r. Reid) that your stay in Georgia is like to be much longer than was at first expected, the frequent applications of Citizens &c. to Congress for pay require your presence. inclosed is one from John Buchanan with the order of Congress thereon, as I know nothing of the services of this gentleman I cannot form any report.
