[48] Annapolis Feb^y 25. 85 Dear Sir Be so kind as to inform me whether Officers of the invalid Corps receives the five years full Pay exclusive of the half pay allotted them for life — This Question takes its rise from the circumstance of several Wounded Officers of this line (who are considered on the Rolls in the same light with Others & deranged by the war Office Returns at the same period) now receiving half from the State on Continental account — This is a point on which I am in doubt, & which must be determined before I proceed to close the Accounts of those in that predicament — The Question in short amounts to this, are Invalid or wounded Officers to receive both Commutation and halfpay for life?
