Sir
Applied to Mr. Charleston for information in respect of the General Officers of the Virginia Line he inform me there is no Resolve of Congress whereby any of those Officers is deranged. that the claim of General Weedon is founded on the Resolve of the 13 June 1784 which there he is called into Service, and is of opinion that the General is entitled to all Emoluments by that Resolve provided he demanded it. I wish to observe to you that by the Resolve of the 18 Augt it declares that the Congress granted the General his wish to retire from Service untill the inconveniences he then laboured under could be removed this happened on the captivity and afterwards death of Genl Wood and who it seems superceded Genl Weedon in Comdr
