[19.] An Instruction which M^r Peter Schuyler gave to M^r Campbell Secretary to the Commissioners, which M^r Schuyler said he rec'd from the Gov^r of the State of N York — and [undecipherable] hath he gave M^r Campbell in consequence of his having deliver'd him a Letter from the Commissioners [undecipherable] consulting with him for appearing at the Treaty [undecipherable] as [an?] Interpreter and giving [undecipherable] to the Indians [undecipherable] he was a Commissioner and by Various direct and indirect means counteracting the Negociations which they were holding with the Indians — the Instruction which M^r Schuyler produced was without any Seal or Signature, was, that the said Peter Schuyler together with [one?] Peter [undecipherable] as an Interpreter was [directed?] to attend at Fort [Stanwix?] During the Time the Commissioners of the said [undecipherable] held their Treaty with the Indians, to observe the Conduct of the Commissioners of the United State and to oppose and frustrate any of their Proceedings which [might?] [undecipherable] or [undecipherable] injuriously [affect?] the Interest of the State of N York — An Instruction of the Commissioners for Indian Affairs given at Fort Stanwix Oct 26. 1784.
