Sir
I have examined the accounts of the late line of South Carolina and of those of Virginia, and do not find that any other person from this examination I am led to believe that the Revd Mr Peirce was the only person that received the extra pay for acting as Judge Advocate for the Southern Army in 1783 —
I do not find Mr Peirce acted on the Claims of Mr Purcels, which circumstance prevents me from a knowledge of the terms of Service, on a reference to the files of Congress, this information may be obtained.
I have the Honor to be with great respect
Sir
