Jackson] Richmond, Nov 18 1784 Dear Sir Yours N° 3, passed me at Annapolis, and went to [undecipherable] Phil[adelphia] and was received by me this day. I wrote you from Annapolis which you have undoubtedly received — your reasons for continuing at Newbern are undoubtedly just and are satisfactory — I hope to meet you there by the 15^th of next month — and wish you to look out for proper accomodations for me — such as well be least inexpensive and at the same time convenient, and reputable — our retinue [beside my^self interlined] at Mr Moore is a servant, three Horses and a Phaeton — in respect to your moving with the State Commissioners your own judgment must be followed — I shold not however wish you to make many removals, as it will be a dissappointment to those with whom you settle — if it is necessary to remove, let me know it, that I may not go far out of my way — I have inclosed you our account of the monies drawn by the Officers, to serve you [not only interlined] as a directory in the settlement but also to assist you in obtaining a knowledge of the sums yet due to the line — I am with esteem Your Obedient Serv^t [signature] [M.E.
