The Subsistence allowed by Congress to the Canadian Officers has been made up to the 5 of August last Some which Time I have not been able to receive Any, owing as much perhaps to no regular mode being established for the payment & receipt of it as to any thing else — I shall feel my-self particularly obliged to You if you could transmit to me by Post my Subsistance for the months of August, September, October & November which at 24 Dollars ꝑ month amounts to 96 Dollars, and I will return you by the Same Conveyance any form of receipt You will dictate by way of Voucher — I will be further obliged to you if you will point out to me the manner in which I am to procure it in future.
