A Relapse of my illness, which has lasted me twenty days has prevented my doing any business of consequence towards the settlement.
I am now on the recovery, but so slowly Suspected that it shall be sometime before I regain my former state of health.
I am inclined to believe from what matter and other papers. I have collected, that a settlement begun early can be effected,
I wait on his Excellency Governor Martin who is at this place with your letter, he received me very politely and promises his Assistance in all matters relative to the Settlement may you long enjoy the health you wish.
I am your &c
Dr Pierce Esqr [undecipherable]
