Philada Sept 29 1782
Sir
Mr Hodgdon who is now to New England to dispose of the Foederal Stores there desired me to make application for monies necessary in the department of Military Stores, during his absence — Wherefore I beg leave to present the inclosed estimate and at the same time to request a grant on the estimate applied for from you for £ Aug. 18. 6 for the Indian from me prisoners and Col. Harmar's detachment —
I. Mr Nicholson who undertakes the repairs of the Arms, prays he may for the 100 be paid in cash, to enable him to carry on the business without loss; and pleads a promise or an encouragement from Sr Mr Hodgdon that cash would be given him
There appears to be a deficiency in the supplies for Col. Harmar's detachment, of 16 Axe & Camp Kittle which are engaged. So the whole of the estimates on behalf of Mr Hodgdon will be as follows
The estimate presented by him for £ Aug. 18. 0
The inclos'd estimate - - - 101. 10. 0
For the additional Axes & Camp £ 12. 0 0
Kittle
Equal to 700 Dollars £ 263. 8. 6
