Sir,

Enclosed you will receive the returns of the 1st & 3rd Reg.s. of Cavalry in as perfect a state as is possible to be procured. You will observe the note in respect to Major Hopkins, who it seems has a Commission as such. This Gentleman’s pay and Commutation is settled for by me in the 4th regiment.

I have also sent you a list of the Fees allowed to Notary, public as fixed by act of Assembly in 1752, which Law has never been revised, and those Fees are notes taken by the notaries here.
