[Copy] Philad^a Sept 16. 1784 Dear I have received your letter of the 2^d Instant am happy that the post goes off satisfactorily as received, I presume that those which followed by Post as well as by Cap^tn. Starkley vouchers I should have sent them two or three weeks ago, but when they will now arrive is uncertain. I am under very particular obligation to you for your appearances respecting the [undecipherable], to prevent impostions, my honor as well as this public interest and deeply interested in it — Major Claiborne is in [undecipherable] on his [undecipherable] I will inform you what probability you may have in obtaining his account. I have Officers who were [undecipherable] Jan^y 1783 but entitled to Commutation, by the resolve under which they [undecipherable]. The [undecipherable] returns of [undecipherable] ones who were not provision by [undecipherable] is by an order from the War Office directed to [undecipherable] place May 1. 1783. I believe I have persued already very much of the time, what can be [undecipherable], if any more can be found I shall forward them.
