[Copy] Philadelphia August 20. 1784 Sir I cannot find by any accounts in this Office that Paymaster Woodward has made a settlement of his accounts — the receipt you have transmitted would be sufficient against him, provided the proper stoppages was made when the regimental pay accounts were closed at Albany — in which case you will of course be discharged from the money drawn by you — I have lodged the Rect you inclosed among my file of letters for this month where you will find it with your letter — you may authorize any Gentleman to make the settlement & close the whole business.
