To M^r B Bankson Philad^a July 20. 1784 I have rec^d your letter of the 12 with the papers enclosed which I have perused & I understand — I am glad to find the painter has finished the journals of last Session. I hope he will now take up and finish what remains of 1783, and that he will use so much dispatch as not to be too long in compleating it. M^r Jay has called on me to settle for accounts of the journey.
