Received of John Pierce Esq^r two thousand three hundred & forty Certificates dated May 1784 and Numbered from 64,919 to 67,278 inclusive — bearing interest from the different periods for which they are given; amounting in the whole to two hundred two thousand, one hundred & [undecipherable] ⁷⁰/₉₀ Dollars, being the balance due to the Officers and Soldiers of the 1^st New York regiment as follows viz: Pay for the year 1782 — Clothing for 1782 & 1783: Pay for 1783 — Gratuity of eighty dollars to each Non Commissioned Officer & privates who served during the war — Subsistence of the Officers from [undecipherable] 1 1778 to the 1^st August 1780, and from 1^st August 1780 to 1^st January 1782 — and commutation of five years full pay in lieu of half pay for life to the Officers — all which Certificates I do hereby promise to deliver the individuals to whom they respectively belong, or deposit them for their benefit in the supreme executive of the State of New York agreeably to an act of Congress of the 3^d November 1783.
