[Copy] [To Genl Mr. Dougall June 7. 1784 Copy Genl McD.] [Copied] Philadelphia June 7 1784 Sir Being out on a visit to Congress I did not receive your letter of the 8^th Ult^o until my return — I do not know of any impediment lying that can prevent a close of your accounts with the United States, except that of rations which I think must remain unsettled — it being impossible to obtain the proper information from the Commissaries. — There are some charges against you in this Office for monies recieved on account of the pay of your regiment in 1775 & 1776, which had best be closed — I am with great respect, and esteem, Your Ob.
