Received of John Pierce Esqr Pay Master General, two thousand, three hundred and eighteen Certificates, dated 1st March Ulto, numbered from 56,179 to 58,495, and eighty two Certificates dated the 7th Inst, Numbered from 62,929 to 63,010, amounting in the whole to One hundred ninety five thousand, three hundred & thirty six 70/90 Dollars, on interest from the different periods of the several Accounts, for which they are given, being the balance due the Officers & Soldiers of the 2d New York regiment, as follows viz pay for 1782 — Cloathing for 1782 & 1783 — pay for 1783 — Gratuity — Subsistence of the Officers, from 1st June 1778 to 1st August 1780, and from August 1780 to 1st January 1782 — and Commutation of the Officers — All which Certificates, I do hereby promise to deliver the individuals, to whom they respectively belong, or deposit them for their benefit, as the supreme executive of the State of New York shall direct, agreeably to an Act of Congress of the 3d November 1783
