I have the honour to enclose to your Excellency a letter received from Mr Whiting, the present owner of the furnace at Salisbury, in Connecticut, & Brother to Mr William Whiting, whose Account, and receipt, for the Shot and Shells mentioned to be seized and taken away by a public Creditor, are also enclosed. — The nature of this transaction, and the Magnitude of its Object, appearing to me to demand immediate attention, I have thought it my duty to transmit to your Excellency the above mentioned papers without delay, and shall now await the orders of Congress thereon.
