In consequence of a letter received from Major Gibbs I enclose to your address fifteen pair of Silver Epauletts for the Officers at West Point. The annexed invoice ascertains the Value of each Sett, which you will please to receive and account with me for those Marked for General Jackson, Colonel Hall & Major Gibbs, you will be kind enough to deliver, the others you will deliver to such as call for them, observing the Grades —
The Captains receive one plain epaulet, and Strap or counterpart; the Lieutenants one of each Interspersed with Silk — If more are wanted, or Swords such as the Marquis presented to the Officers, please to inform me, and they shall be sent on —— I am Sir.
